Every year in June, the Pontis Foundation organizes a national volunteer week, with about 10 000 people joining to help making Slovakia a better, cleaner, and a friendlier place. Being one of the most attractive activities of the week, Pro Bono Marathon engages companies working in various fields to provide expert advice to NGOs. The organizations are carefully chosen based on numerous criteria and only a few projects have the opportunity to join.
Over the last week, we have been collecting stories from NGOs about their experiences with pro bono cooperation, the value it brought to their work, and what impact it had on their clients, community, and wider society. Hoping to inspire other organizations to engage in meaningful projects, on the 28th of October, we will choose the most interesting articles, publish them, and announce one winner, who will automatically be invited to the next Pro Bono Marathon in June 2017.
